The motorsport competition, held at Silverstone Circuit in 2017, is aimed at supporting the next generation of young engineers as they compete to design, build and race Formula One-style racing cars. GKN has a long running relationship with Formula Student, dating back to 1997, and is hosting a stand at the event again this year. As well as the livestream, there are a number of events to enable GKN to engage with students, including a ’20 minute make off’ competition involving automotive construction kits and a series of ‘Ted Talks’ from senior GKN engineers.
